Environments to form Relationships and strengthen Faith

One of the most telling signs of a faithful Christian is a deep relationship with God’s Word. The mission of the adult education program is to assist our members in knowing the Lord and deepening their relationship with Him through expository and topical studies of the Bible. Our discussion-based classes align with Summerville CoC’s overall vision for the church: Relationships Formed, Faith Strengthened.

Young Adult (Upstairs Gym): Enneagram Study

Allen and Stephanie Cooke

Understanding our individual strengths and weaknesses can help us discern our spiritual strengths and gifts, assisting us in our walk of faith and evangelism efforts. In this class, we will examine how different personalities can best serve in God's kingdom.

Ladies Class (Downstairs Gym): Prayer Group

Join us as we begin a prayer and devotional group designed to form relationships and strengthen faith. If you are looking to develop new relationships or strengthen existing ones, we encourage you to attend.

Adult Class 2 (Annex): Love Like You Mean It

Bill and Donna Branham

FamilyLife Today veteran co-host and renowned author Bob Lepine pulls us back from the Top 40, dreamy novels, and rom-coms—and into the ancient wisdom of 1 Corinthians 13. He’ll help you dive into how God describes and displays true love: the love your soul craves, the love God has designed for your marriage.

WEDNESDAYS - 7:00 PM

Family Room: Acts: The Church's Origin Story

Len Driskell

We will study the first half of Luke’s account of the spread of the church after Jesus’ ascension. We will begin with the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost and follow its influence across persecutions, missionary journeys, miracles, and the growth of the church as it transitioned from a Jewish movement to a global faith. This is the birth narrative of the church we belong to almost two millennia later and the spiritual ancestors who witnessed to the truth of the gospel to a hostile world.

Ladies Class (Annex): Women of the Bible

Katy Penick and Latonia Pearson

Reflections on Women of the Bible by Heather Pryor. This 13 lesson study focuses on the lives and character of several fascinating women in scripture and includes sections on cultural background, a connection to Christ, discussion questions, a personal application page, and more. As we reflect on the examples in this study, we also need to take a close look at ourselves and how we can become the women God created each of us to be.
